you are just so unfortunate

My trip to Kedah wasn't bad at all. Places of visit including Pulau Langkawi and Alor Star. Special thanks to SanChew and Pinny for the wholesome hospitality. :)

I did not planned to blog about this event, until recently I get to know about the award winning South African photojournalist Kevin Carter(famous for his "vulture stalking at the near-dead starving girl" of Southern Sudan photo shoot). His situation was a dilemma. After snapping that atrocious moment, he did not save the girl, but at least had became a savior for the greater nation of the world - a witness, or perhaps a representative of voice to the unfortunate ones.

I would say I had quite a common situation like Mr. Carter when I encountered a living being with "almost dead with very little ray of hope to survive". No, this time is not a human, but a pup. *laughs..

During the visit to Gunung Keriang, Kedah, There was an unfortunate incident where 2 puppies were trapped in a drain full of mud and stagnant water. I first heard about it when the villagers started making up "hype" about the incident and it somehow drew a little bit more attention from me and my 2 fellow friends. We did not know about the puppies' situation as well until we were told that there were some good Samaritan succeeded in pulling the puppies out of their misery... It wasn't the end though.

"so how are they now?", I thought.

"one seems to be fine already, but there is another one...gasping for air...desperately... gasping", a kid told us.

"let's check the puppy out !"...

Lied beside the drain, she was in agony and we still can hear her very weak voice. Helpless, not even her mother can do much for her..neither do me who is just a visitor and my 2 friends as well. So i decided to bring her too a more soothing place which is under a big tree. I suggested that the villager to bring her home..bathe her, feed her, warm her, wait for her further recovery and then free her to meet her mother..maybe her mother did not care about her anymore but at least she can live on and reduce the pain that she had on that very day. The villagers refused and gave a lame reason or I shall said excuses. Or I might be naive to be nice or even to save an unknown pup. But all I was trying to do was to be a little bit more compassionate. A friend of mine comforted her by covering the shivering body with a few pieces of newspaper. Hoping her mother will come to her as soon as possible. Seriously we can't do much as we have to move on...we left..the villagers left ...she is abandoned under a big chilly tree. Until now, her survival is unknown...

while I'm typing this, suddenly I think of something...I should have bring her to the nearest temple(which is just a few steps away)..She might get a better chance there... adui..apalah saya =.= ..

By the way, as I always think, there are much more unfortunates all over the world and it's impossible to help them all. It's sometimes painful to see. Realistically, human keeps on breeding and the world's population hasn't stop growing, plus the context is much more complex and complicated..the growth of increasingly unfortunates are imminent and inevitable. Some are lucky enough to live while some are just so unfortunate. Absolutely, we can't do much about it(to help the unfortunates) but to play a part.

p/s: I mentioned that I "had quite a common situation like Kevin Carter" refers to the situation of encountering a living being close-to-death with chances of saving them for further survival. What I'm trying to tell here is that I may be a witness but certainly not a savior because I don't win awards and I am not prestigious-ly recognized like what Mr. Carter do xD.

Hence, what will you do if you are in my shoe ? again, your thoughts and opinions are very much appreciated. =)
